Track Weekend Team Leader

I was responsible for overseeing all aspects of the team's performance during track weekend. I lead the team of engineers and mechanics, keeping high morale and clear communication and whilst collaborating with my engineers and strategists, I developed race strategies, optimised pit stops, tyre choices, and fuel management. I also coordinated logistics, vehicle preparation, equipment setup, compliance with event regulations, compliance with safety standards, and vehicle checks. When issues arose, I made critical decisions which minimised downtime and maintain performance. Post-race, I lead analysis sessions, debriefing with the team to review data, refine strategies, and improve for the future.

The Car

The Gem AW3 is a single-seater race car. It has a sealed MG 1600cc engine delivering ~130 hp, delivering power through a Quaife straight-cut gearbox transmission with synchronized all-aluminum casings. Its carbon aerodynamic parts, pushrod suspension at both front and rear, sierra differential, and AP race brakes, the AW3 is a reliable platform.
